Yves Klein, born in Nice on 28 April 1928, died in Paris on 6 June 1962, is a French artist. In 1954, he definitely turned to art and began his «Monochrome Adventure». Yves Klein adopted ultramarine blue as a vehicle. This blue is more than blue, which he named «IKB» (International Klein Blue). He designed a work that crosses the boundaries of conceptual, corporeal and happening art. Just before his death, Yves Klein confided to a friend: I’m going to enter the largest workshop in the world. And I will do only immaterial works”. He died at the age of 34.
