Yves Klein, born in Nice on April 28, 1928, died in Paris on June 6, 1962, is a French artist. In 1954, he turned definitively to art and began his «Monochrome Adventure». In his quest for immateriality and infinity, Yves Klein adopted ultramarine blue as his vehicle. This blue more than blue, which he will call «IKB» (International Klein Blue). From its monochromes, to the vacuum, to the «technique of living brushes» or «Anthropometry», to the use of the elements of nature in order to manifest their creative force or gold which it uses as a passage towards the absolute, he designed a work that crosses the boundaries of conceptual, corporeal and happening art. Just before dying, Yves Klein confided to a friend: I’m going to enter the biggest workshop in the world. And I will only do immaterial works». He died of a heart attack in Paris in 1962, at the age of 34.
